DeKalb County has the fourth largest population
of homeless individuals in Georgia.
Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM) works to prevent and alleviate homelessness in DeKalb County. Our mission is to help homeless and at-risk families settle into safe, stable homes and build healthy lives filled with peace, hope and opportunity.
We achieve the mission through the delivery of the following programs:
-Emergency Shelter (up to 90 days) for homeless families
-Transitional Housing (up to 6 months) for homeless families
-Permanent Supportive Housing for chronically homeless families whose head of household has a debilitating disability
-Rapid Re-Housing Services to reduce the amount of time a family spends homeless
-Homelessness Prevention includes financial assistance (e.g., rent and utility assistance), food relief, and financial management education
-Supportive Services to Veteran Families (homeless prevention services delivered exclusively to low-income Veterans at risk for homelessness)
DCM programs provide over 1,000 children and adults each year with the case management and supportive services they need to overcome homelessness and achieve housing stability.
