The Marcus E. & Sharon B. Gunter Foundation, Inc. Our Mission is to form an organization of citizens to assist those individuals who may need assistance in day to day living. Our Vision is to be a community where all people have the opportunity to engage, thrive and achieve a better quality of life.

Our Goal: Eliminate Hunger in Forsyth County, GA.

A. We have modified our event from one hot meal to supplemental groceries which occurs the 3rd Saturday of each month. This empowers our families to prepare meals in their traditional style and have the children look to their parents as providers. We move all our supplies and food donations into the Otwell Middle School Cafeteria turning it into a mini-grocery where the boxes are prepared and packaged. We have also expanded from six (6) to nine (9) distribution sites in the county.

B. Our Bags of Love provides lunches to children that qualify for free or assisted food programs in the public school system from our 9 Distribution sites. Our pilot program in the Summer of 2012 served 100 meals a week. Our Bags of Love weekly averaged 726 lunches in 2013, 961.5 in 2014 and 2015 a total of 15,665. Homes with teenagers are supplemented with a case of food each week. Our summer program runs all 11 weeks of summer break. Our Bags of Love also runs during Spring Break, Fall Break, Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Breaks.

We have two annual campaigns Our Coats, Socks and Gloves is annual and seasonal. In addition to the lightly used winter wear, we provide 75 dozen new socks made in the USA from our Tennessee wholesaler. Our Dimes for Dinners is continuous and permanent.
