This year, we are excited to kick off our first annual fundraising campaign on November 27th, 2018, in conjunction with Georgia Gives Day on Giving Tuesday! We know that you've supported us—whether by following us on social media, checking in on our blog, or signing up for our emails—and your encouragement has been vital to so many groundbreaking changes for tiny & micro housing regulations. That's why, this year, we're asking you to turn Giving Tuesday into a Day of Action and help us to raise money that will allow this momentum to continue into 2019 and beyond! And as an added bonus, we have a donor who has pledged to match up to $2500 to the MicroLife Institute between now & midnight of November 27, 2018, so your contribution will be DOUBLED!
We exist because of people like you. Dedicated, passionate individuals who are changing the world. Every success we've had—from getting the Tiny House Appendix adopted in Georgia, to the demonstration Clarkston tiny house pocket community—has been because of your support. We couldn't be more grateful for your help. Thank you for working to make Giving Tuesday/ Georgia Gives Day a day when we can all give to the animals who need us the most!
A Message from our Executive Director Will Johnston:
As we look back and see the trail we have blazed in the world, we are energized with excitement and pride. Our accomplishments and continued growth since inception have given us the footing to keep making positive changes in space utilization, housing, and other micro areas for metropolitan and rural communities. Our education efforts have helped promote and educate local governments, state officials, business leaders, real estate investors, developers, and countless other industry leaders that are wanting to better utilize space and bring resilient housing to all.
Our efforts have resulted in significant developments over the past two years, thanks in large to our partnerships with some amazing organizations. We supported the City of Atlanta as they passed a pioneering detached Accessory Dwelling unit legislation for R-5 zones. We also helped the state of Georgia pass a Tiny House Appendix, built a tiny office to demonstrate sustainable practices and space utilization in the city, coordinated the first ever micro hood in Metropolitan Atlanta, and held countless educational events drawing nearly a hundred thousand people to explore the option of micro living. We have made remarkable progress, and are only just getting started.
But…we can’t do it alone. We need your help. This year we need to expand staff, refine our processes proven to create results, and enthusiastically fundraise so we can reach grow farther and bigger than ever before.
Thanks so much for your support!
