Research shows that people living near trees and green spaces experience better mental health, greater resilience, and improved physical well-being. Urban forests don't just beautify neighborhoods; they help people thrive. But healthy forests don't happen by accident. They require dedicated care, stewardship, and restoration. 

That's why Trees Atlanta matters. Our conservation work includes hands-on restoration, removing invasive species and reestablishing native plants, educating the community about the importance of conservation, and setting standards to guide long-term stewardship of our forests.

What is the Giving Tuesday 2026 Challenge for Trees Atlanta? 

This Giving Tuesday, your donation will support conservation efforts in Chosewood Park. Trees Atlanta began its conservation efforts in the neighborhood in 2015 alongside the Friends of Chosewood Park. Nevertheless, inconsistent funding has increased invasive plant species in the neighborhood’s forested areas, including Chinese privet, wisteria, English ivy, Japanese knotweed, kudzu, and stiltgrass.

Forest restoration takes years before true native forest regeneration can begin. We are in it for the long haul.  Want to come on the journey with us?
