Artportunity Day on #GivingTuesday

Imagine meeting a high school junior at any high school in or around metro Atlanta. They're incredibly creative - writing stories, producing music, and dreaming up new recipes. But when graduation nears, they feel unsure about their future. College seems unaffordable. They may need to work to help their family. What career options exist for someone like them?

This is where Artportunity Knocks steps in. 

Our career readiness programs provide education, training, and real-world experiences in creative industries to youth who may lack traditional higher ed pathways. With your support on Giving Tuesday, we can empower so many more students just like them.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 to fund things like: 

- Hiring a specialist to guide students' professional journeys. Success coaches connect youth to opportunities aligned with their strengths.

- Offering workshops, resources and mentors to build in-demand skills. From music production to gaming and culinary arts, we prepare youth for growing career fields.

- Providing stipends to eliminate barriers to participating. Experiences like conferences, workplace tours and certifications prepare youth for success. 

- Facilitating partnerships with major companies to create internships and jobs. Real-world experience gives youth the competitive edge.

With career-focused education, youth have so much to gain:

- Graduation rates increase up to 30%

- Postsecondary enrollment is over 80%

- Average earnings rise by $19,000 a year 

- Unemployment after high school drops by 57%

Most importantly, futures are transformed. Youth discover career passions, gain confidence and see expanded possibilities.

Our programs aid students in finding their path. They honed their writing through internships, practiced audio production and explored the culinary arts. After graduation, they're headed to a paid fellowship at a media studio.
