Music Education Group Inc

The Music Education Group, Inc, (MEG) is an Atlanta-based STEAM 501(c3) whose mission is to teach students life skills and career development through music, film and digital media. We work with stakeholders to build an infrastructure which will support future careers in Georgia's Creative Economy. Building an infrastructure which will support future careers is critical to the state’s ability to keep education on pace with job creation.

We currently serve as a vendor for Atlanta Public, Cobb, Dekalb, and Fulton County School Districts, as well as for the City of Atlanta and Dekalb and Fulton County. We operate multiple training facilities both in-school and after-school. The facilities are designed to provide students with hands-on access to industry standard hardware, software and training. Making the connection between what they are learning in school and what it means to their future is one of the most crucial and overlooked steps in the development of our young people and future workforce. 

MEG provides hardware, software and teacher training in support of Georgia's Music and Audio Technology Career Pathway. During the 2024-2025 school-year we completed new facilities at South Atlanta, Mays, Westlake and Langston Hughes High Schools. Additionally, through our partnership with the Save the Music Foundation, we provide support and training for students and teachers in an additional 20 middle and high schools in metro Atlanta. We will be adding (4) new schools in the upcoming 2026 -2027 school year.

Using our traditional music programs as a backdrop, our team works to create safe spaces for families to reconnect, process their grief, and learn vital tools for navigating the challenges of a justice system that often leaves them marginalized. We believe that healing is possible, and we are committed to providing the support, resources, and healing necessary to rebuild lives and restore dignity.

Our holistic approach not only prepares students academically but also equips them with the skills needed to thrive in the local workforce, fostering a more equitable and sustainable future for all. Involvement in the arts is one avenue by which at-risk youth can acquire the various competencies necessary to become economically self-sufficient over the long term, rather than becoming a financial strain on their states and communities.
